2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony on TV5.The much awaited 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony will be aired live on TV5 network. This gives Filipinos the live telecast of the three-hour showcase that will start at 4 am on Saturday, July 28, 2012.

The Opening Ceremony for this year is called "The Isles of Wonder" and has been designed and coordinated by Oscar winning director Danny Boyle whose notable work is Slumdog Millionaire. The theme of the ceremony is inspired by a passage from Shakespeare's The Tempest.

The event will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, London and will be seen by a crowd of over sixty thousand people and a global audience of more than a billion.

The cost of this spectacular event is said to be around £27 million.

As the exclusive television carrier of the 2012 London Olympics in Philippines, the TV5 Kapatid network will broadcast live several of the sporting events and updates on the medals tally on channel 5 and its affiliate including AksyonTv, HYPER and AKTV.
